About
John Kasich was sworn in as governor of Ohio on January 10, 2011, and was sworn in for his second term on January 12, 2015.
Kasich served in the U.S. House of Representatives for nine terms beginning in 1982, during which time he served as chair of the House Budget Committee and spearheaded the effort to pass the Balanced Budget Act of 1997. He also served in the Ohio Senate.
After running for President in 2000, Kasich entered the private sector and served as a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, a host and commentator on FOX News, a member of the board of directors of Invacare and Worthington Industries and authored three New York Times bestsellers.
Kasich and his wife, Karen, have twin daughters.
