Ralph Deleon Guerrero Torres was sworn in as governor on Dec. 29, 2015, following the death of his predecessor.
Before becoming governor, Gov. Torres served as lieutenant governor. He previously served as Senate president for the Northern Mariana Islands legislature. Prior to public service, he was a lawyer at Torres Brothers, LLC, which served clients from 2004–2008.
Born on August 6, 1979, Gov. Torres was raised on the island of Saipan until his family moved to Boise, Idaho where he attended high school. He attended Boise State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
