About
Dan Little became the first gentleman of Oregon when his wife, Governor Kate Brown, was sworn into office on February 18, 2015. A native of Boulder, Colorado, he graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins with a bachelor’s degree in forestry management.
Mr. Little enjoyed a long tenure with the U.S. Forest Service as a natural resources biologist from 1982 to 2015 when he retired. During his time there, Mr. Little worked on a variety of national forest projects and developed databases and Geographic Information Systems to inventory and analyze a wide range of natural resource conditions.
Mr. Little and Gov. Kate Brown were married in 1997, and they currently reside in Salem, Oregon. The first gentleman has two grown children, Jessie and Dylan.
