This webinar highlights state energy and infrastructure resilience solutions and funding opportunities through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities grant program.

Between 2014-2018, extreme weather cost an average of $99 billion annually. (FEMA) In the first half of 2020 alone, 10 distinct severe storms yielded losses in excess of $1 billion and 80 deaths in aggregate. (NOAA) Recognizing the risks that extreme weather events and other natural hazards pose to communities, FEMA released its Fiscal Year 2020 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Notification of Funding Opportunities in August 2020, part of its Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant program. In FY20, this program will distribute up to $500 million to state, territorial, tribal governments for pre-disaster mitigation, such as public energy and infrastructure projects, nature-based solutions, and adoption and enforcement of building codes.
