Tom Corbett was sworn in as the governor of Pennsylvania on January 18th, 2011.
Corbett has a long and distinguished career serving the citizens of the commonwealth as assistant U.S. attorney, U.S. attorney, chair of the Pennsylvania Commission of Crime and Delinquency, Pennsylvania attorney general and governor. Corbett has also served as a key advisor to U.S. presidents and governors.
His administration focused on private sector job growth, tort reform and education.
Corbett received his undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College and his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Corbett served his country as a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard 28th Infantry Division from 1971 until 1984, rising from private to captain. He and his wife are the parents of two adult children, and they have one grandchild.
