Tim Carlton

Legislative Director

Tim Carlton serves as a Legislative Director at the National Governors Association (NGA). In his role, Tim oversees education, workforce and housing issues.

Prior to NGA, Carlton spent nearly 8 years working in both chambers of Congress on Capitol Hill. Most recently, Tim served as Policy Advisor to Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), where he handled the Senator’s education, labor and retirement work as a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

Tim was born and raised in Southern California and holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. In his spare time, Tim enjoys watching baseball, playing fantasy football and listening to podcasts.
