About
Beatriz Rosselló was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and has long been an advocate for the arts and initiatives to help those in need, including programs addressing homelessness and foster care. In partnership with her husband, Governor Ricardo Rosselló, the first lady works to promote the well-being of all Puerto Ricans.
The first lady earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at the University Interamericana of Puerto Rico, where she graduated magna cum laude. She was elected president of the student council, becoming the youngest student to hold the position and only the second woman to do so.
As president, she developed projects to support grants for low-income students and to promote Puerto Rican culture. While a student, she also was president of her chapter of the Puerto Rico Statehood Students Association and vice president of her party’s youth branch in San Juan. She continued her postgraduate studies at the School of Public Policy at Duke University.
The Rossellós are the proud parents of two children: Claudia Beatriz and Pedro Javier.
