Diana McTeague Scott

About

Diana McTeague Scott became the first lady of Vermont when her husband, Governor Phil Scott, was sworn in on Dec. 15, 2016.

Mrs. Scott was born and raised in Melrose, Massachusetts. After managing her own small business in California for more than a decade, she returned to New England and obtained a degree in nursing. Mrs. Scott served as a staff nurse in New Hampshire at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, and Memorial Hospital in North Conway. She currently works as a registered nurse in Vermont. While in New Hampshire, Mrs. Scott was involved in many outdoor events for youth at Great Glen and with the “White Mountain Milers,” a running club in Mt. Washington Valley.

The first lady is focusing attention on her combined passions for community wellness and public service. She is actively involved in flu clinics and Wheels for Warmth, an organization founded by Governor Scott in 2005. Wheels for Warmth provides donated usable tires to Vermonters at a low cost with the entire proceeds supporting emergency fuel assistance for families in need.

The first lady and Governor Scott married in December 2011. She has one daughter and two step-daughters.
