About
JOSEPH P. TEASDALE was born March 29, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri. The Governor is a graduate of Rockhurst College and received a law degree from St. Louis University Law School in 1960. Governor Teasdale was assistant United States attorney for Western Missouri, 1962-66, and prosecuting attorney for Jackson County, Missouri, 1966-72. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Man of the Year Award in 1969 from the Kansas City Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was elected the 48th governor of Missouri in November 2, 1976. While governor, he served on the National Governors Association Committee on Agriculture and Committee on Human Resources. Following his tenure as governor, Teasdale returned to private practice in his hometown, Kansas City, Missouri.
