Today, National Governors Association Chairman Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas and Vice Chairman Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey released the following statement in follow-up to last week’s bimonthly NGA call with the White House COVID-19 Response Team.
“We have made tremendous progress in our fight against this pandemic and appreciate the state-federal partnership to ensure that our states and territories have the tools and resources necessary to protect the health and safety of our residents.
“Governors have been at the forefront of this pandemic from day one and understand the potential consequences of not having sufficient lifesaving tools, such as vaccines, boosters and therapeutics at our disposal.
“Governors request that Congress and the Administration work together to ensure states and territories have the necessary resources to continue to respond to COVID-19, while also protecting current commitments from the federal government, including State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.”
